Peapod has plans to compete with all comers

The online grocery service, a unit of Ahold, is expanding its delivery service beyond groceries, expanding warehouse space and opening locations for on-site pickup as it seeks to meet consumer needs in an increasingly competitive market that includes Amazon.com and others.
