Petco, which was acquired by a group of private equity investors in 2016, has confidentially filed for an initial public offering pending scrutiny by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The pet products retailer has seen sales of cat and dog food as well as pet supplies rise substantially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
