Popeyes Enters the ‘Fast-Food Wars’ With New 3 for $5 Chicken Deal

September 19, 2024

Popeyes has announced its entry into the so-called “fast-food wars” with its new 3 for $5 chicken deal.

The promotion, according to an official press release announcement, is in celebration of National Chicken Month, which takes place in September.

According to Allrecipes, for just $5, fans may visit their nearby Popeyes to savor three pieces of their beloved fried chicken, which comes in a choice of dark (thighs and legs) or white (breast and wings) meat and flavored with distinctive Louisiana spices.

Having been in the business since 1972, Popeyes is well-versed in providing its devoted clientele with quality fried chicken options as well as some freshly created desserts, all at a reasonable cost. However, the offer is only valid while supplies last and for a short period.

Popeyes is only making the promotion available through Oct. 6, and it is available in-store and through its proprietary app. It can be ordered for dine-in or takeout.

Popeyes Is Expanding All Over the World

It’s not just Americans who can’t get enough of Popeyes’ famous chicken.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the fast-food chicken giant is expanding its presence into the Emerald Isle. The restaurant, which will debut in Belfast this month, will serve its signature crispy chicken, wings, tenders, Cajun rice, Southern biscuits, and gravy.

Popeyes landed in the United Kingdom in November 2021. The company has since established 50 locations around the nation.

“We’re incredibly excited to have landed in Northern Ireland — a region we’ve had our eyes on for some time,” Tom Crowley, CEO at Popeyes UK, said in a statement about the announcement. “The Belfast opening represents the start of our commitment to the island of Ireland — it’s only the beginning of our plans.”

The eatery also said that the first three customers in line when its Ireland site opens on Sept. 20 would receive a year’s worth of complimentary chicken sandwiches.

The fast-food giant introduced the Double Stack sandwich to its menu in the UK back in April. The origin of the Double Stack Sandwich can be traced back to a well-known menu gimmick used by fans. Many customers were ordering double chicken burgers, which came with one chicken sandwich and one extra chicken breast. Popeyes made it easier for customers by adding the Double Stack Sandwich to its official menu in response to this demand.
