Popeyes Debuts Lip-Smacking Big Game-Inspired Louisiana Garlic Wings

A new NOLA-inspired flavor of Popeyes wings debuts just ahead of Super Bowl LIX. This new flavor celebrates Popeyes’ hometown, which hosts the big game at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. The eatery crafted a special flavor palette to celebrate this distinction as the yearly football showdown grows closer.

Popeyes Louisiana Garlic Wings combine garlic, butter, and the Cajun flavors of Louisiana in an unforgettable chicken wing flavor. Popeyes claims this particular taste hits close to home for the chicken chain restaurant.

“Sticking to our New Orleans roots? Now that just makes sense!” Amy Alarcon, VP of culinary innovation for Popeyes, said in a press release.

“Especially in a year where such a big event is happening in our backyard, we needed to make sure our distinct Cajun flavor was tied to one of our signature wings so that whether you attend the big game in Louisiana or watch from your house, you can get a real taste of New Orleans,” she added.

Along with its Louisiana Garlic Wings, Popeyes offers other flavors that are just as lip-smacking good. These include Ghost Pepper, Sweet ‘N Spicy, Honey BBQ, Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Signature Hot, and Honey Lemon Pepper. All are available in bone-in and boneless varieties.

In September 2024, Popeyes introduced its tailgating bundle to nourish football fans with the ultimate in savings and flavor. For just $24.99, Popeyes fans could order 24 wings (choice of boneless or bone-in), three regular sides, and four dip-cup sauces.

At the time, the company suggested customers try one, or all, of the different types of wings available in their suggested bundles. Popeyes broke the wing flavor options down into categories including those targeting spice lovers, a family spread, or a third group for those who wanted to try a little of everything.
