Popeyes Joins Forces With Tequila Don Julio for New Super Bowl Collaboration

Popeyes has teamed up with Tequila Don Julio to offer its customers a new Super Bowl collaboration.
According to USA Today, the firms have collaborated on a “one-of-a-kind culinary mashup” ahead of this year’s Super Bowl, releasing the Popeyes x Tequila Don Julio Championship Lineup menu.
The new Popeyes x Tequila Don Julio Reposado Flavored Concha Chicken Sandwich is the star of the menu, with a chicken breast filet marinated in reposado tequila and fried in Popeyes crunchy buttermilk breading, topped with a tequila lime slaw, spicy spread, a barrel cured pickle, and sandwiched between a sweet and buttery concha roll.
The menu also includes the Reposado-Flavored Louisiana Garlic 3-Piece Wings with a custom sauce and a Spicy Strawberry-Hibiscus-Flavored Lemonade Mocktail.
For one day only, on Jan. 31, select restaurants in New York City, Miami, New Orleans, and the hometowns of the Super Bowl teams, Philadelphia and Kansas City, offered a menu preview. Additionally, the menu is offered at the newly refurbished flagship Popeyes restaurant on Canal Street in New Orleans for an extended length of time, from Jan. 31 to Feb. 9, while supplies last.
Popeyes Previously Introduced Big Game-Inspired Louisiana Garlic Wings
Last month, the popular chicken chain introduced Big Game-inspired Louisiana Garlic Wings. The Louisiana Garlic Wings mix garlic, butter, and Cajun tastes from Louisiana for a fantastic chicken wing flavor. According to the company, this flavor is familiar to customers of the chicken restaurant chain.
“Sticking to our New Orleans roots? Now that just makes sense!” Amy Alarcon, VP of culinary innovation for Popeyes, said in a press release. “Especially in a year where such a big event is happening in our backyard, we needed to make sure our distinct Cajun flavor was tied to one of our signature wings so that whether you attend the big game in Louisiana or watch from your house, you can get a real taste of New Orleans.”
Along with its Louisiana Garlic Wings, Popeyes provides other delicious flavors. These include Ghost Pepper, Sweet ‘N Spicy, Honey BBQ, Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Signature Hot, and Honey Lemon Pepper. All are available in both bone-in and boneless options.
