April 2, 2024
The Powerball Jackpot now rests at a record-breaking $1.09 billion.
No winning ticket was sold ahead of the drawing on Monday, April 1. Those winning numbers were 19, 24, 40, 42 and 56. The Powerball was 23, and the Power Play was 2X. The Powerball jackpot has an estimated cash value of $527.3 million and ranks as the fourth-largest Powerball jackpot and ninth-largest U.S. lottery jackpot in the game’s history.
Although there were no jackpot winners in the April 1 Powerball game, there were plenty of winners. Six tickets matched all five white balls and won $1 million in prizes. The $1 million-winning tickets were sold in Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Virginia.
Across the U.S., 11 tickets won $100,000 prizes and 53 tickets won $50,000 prizes.

Drew Svitko, Powerball Product Group Chair and Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director, said in a statement to the official Powerball website, “For lotteries, this is our second consecutive week of being able to offer players an advertised jackpot over $1 billion. If you’re thinking of buying a ticket for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing, please keep in mind, it only takes one ticket to win, and a portion of your ticket sale will stay in your state to support good causes. Have fun and good luck!”
If a player wins the jackpot in Wednesday’s drawing, they will choose between an annuitized prize worth around $1.09 billion or a lump sum award of $527.3 million. Both prize options are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% yearly.
It’s been three months since anyone has won a Powerball jackpot. The last lucky winner in Michigan snagged an $842.4 million prize on Jan. 1.
The odds of winning a Powerball prize in any amount are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
