A recent report by frontline training platform eduMe reveals that 83% of leaders in the retail and hospitality sectors lack confidence in their employees’ customer interaction abilities. The report, based on a survey of over 300 industry leaders in the United States, highlights employee turnover, customer experience, and sales as the top three challenges faced by these businesses. Concerns also include supply and demand issues, leadership gaps, and employee engagement.

The study advocates for improved training systems and processes to enhance customer service and overall business performance. Currently, 92% of companies heavily rely on traditional face-to-face or desktop-based learning methods, which often hinder accessibility and engagement. Despite the challenges, leaders recognize the importance of upskilling employees for better customer experiences.
