Payment Card Settlement

If your retail business accepted Visa or Mastercard payment cards at any time between Jan. 1, 2004, and Jan. 25, 2019, you may be eligible for a share of the Payment Card Settlement.

Register for a webinar on March 28 presented by the attorneys who co-led the settlement and are continuing to lead the claims process. They will explain how the settlement may benefit your business.

At $5.5 billion, it’s the largest settlement of its kind and returns real money to merchants after years of paying allegedly inflated interchange fees. The claims period is now open and closes May 31, 2024. Only merchants who submit a valid claim by the deadline will get money from the settlement.

The webinar will share information on:

– Who’s eligible to make a claim
– How your business can make a claim
– How the settlement returns real money
– What free resources are available to you

Presenters Ryan Marth, partner at Robins Kaplan, and Alexandra “Xan” Bernay, partner at Robbins Geller, will also be available for a Q&A opportunity.

“The case has been winding its way through the court system for nearly 20 years,” says Bernay. “Now we look forward to helping class members with the claims process and getting the benefits of the settlement into their hands.”

“Claim forms started going out on December 1st,” says Marth. “It’s important for businesses to know that this isn’t junk mail: this is real. It’s not too good to be true, and it’s easy to file a claim.”
