Newegg Commerce, a global e-commerce leader for technology products, has introduced Geek+’s shelf-to-person mobile picking system using autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at its Ontario, California, warehouse. The AMR system employs robots to move mobile shelves to workstations where employees pick and scan products for shipping.
The system improves efficiency, accuracy, and productivity while reducing labor costs and physical strain on employees. The robots, resembling flat circular discs, move at over 3.5 miles per hour and can lift and move over 2,200 pounds. Newegg aims to enhance picking efficiency, storage space optimization, and customer experience with this innovative technology.
