The report underlines the firm’s commitment to sustainability, equity, and worker wellbeing as the pillars of its business strategy.

The report shows Williams-Sonoma has significantly cut its emissions across its operations and value chain, thereby making considerable progress towards its Science-Based Target goals. Operational emissions were reduced by 24%, and the company made its first long-term renewable energy investment through a power purchase agreement in Texas, providing 100% wind energy to its retail stores and distribution centers.

Moreover, the company is more than halfway to its goal of paying an additional $10 million in Fair Trade Premiums by 2025 and is nearly halfway to the $50 million investment in Nest Certified Ethically Handcrafted products. These investments are making a positive difference in the lives of tens of thousands of people around the globe.

In 2022, Williams-Sonoma’s sustainability efforts earned it several accolades, including ranking among Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable U.S. Companies and inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index. The company also secured positions on the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index and Forbes lists of Best Employers for Women and Best Employers for Diversity, among other honors.
