Primark says merchandise is 'flying off the shelves' as stores reopen

Primark's sales in the last quarter were up 207 percent on a year-over-year basis as stores reopened in markets across the globe. Same-store sales were up three percent compared to the same period in 2019. John Bason, CEO of Associated British Foods, Primark's parent company, said the chain saw items in some categories including leisurewear and nightwear "flying off the shelves" as consumers shopped in-store again with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
