Radisson Blu, and Other Hotels, Experiencing an Uptick in Business Travel

According to hotel industry officials at a New York conference last year, business travel in the United States has been witnessing a solid rebound, but in a notably different shape than before the pandemic. The NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference indicated that firms, ranging from small businesses to huge corporations, book domestic vacations at larger quantities and rates than before the pandemic.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation, which largely services larger corporate clients, has seen a huge increase in corporate accounts. According to Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt’s CEO, the company’s corporate accounts climbed by 12% year-to-date in April 2024, while total business travel increased by 6% compared to the previous year. This trend demonstrates the growing demand for domestic business travel among multinational firms.

Hyatt’s Hoplamazian went on to say at the time that group business, which includes large meetings and conferences, was seeing mid-single-digit pricing increases. This growth underlines the strong demand for group travel, as businesses and associations seek to reconnect through in-person gatherings.
