Rising prices are behind retail's sales gain in March

Retail sales rose 0.5 percent in March as rising prices in gas and other products boosted overall dollar sales. “The surge in gasoline prices put some serious upside to total retail sales,” said Beth Ann Bovino, the U.S. chief economist at S&P Global.
