Ron Vachris Is New CEO of COSTCO

Costco has announced that its current President and Chief Operating Officer, Ron Vachris, will ascend to the role of Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2024, succeeding the retiring CEO, Craig Jelinek. A seasoned leader with 40 years of dedication to the company, Vachris commenced his Costco journey as a forklift driver and has since served in numerous crucial roles. Jelinek has expressed unequivocal confidence in his successor, praising Vachris’s leadership caliber. Following his retirement on December 31, 2023, Jelinek will remain with the company until April 2024 in an advisory capacity to facilitate a smooth leadership transition. He will also continue to serve on the Board of Directors, seeking reelection at the annual meeting in January 2024.
