Safeway's Burd Stays On Board

Steve Burd was reelected to the Safeway Board of Directors by an 83 percent to 17 percent margin at the company's annual shareholders' meeting. Nearly 17 percent of votes were withheld as a sign of protest against the company's chairman and chief executive.
