Saks will close downtown NYC women's store, keep men's

After running its Brookfield Place store in the financial district of Manhattan for two years, Saks has decided to close the women's portion of the location. Management says it has learned from the experience that women prefer a combination of online shopping and visits to its iconic Fifth Avenue flagship, now in the process of a major sprucing up thanks to a capital investment from parent Hudson's Bay.
