Sales Dismal During Final Holiday Weekend

The recession, extreme weather, tightening credit and job losses all ganged up on retailers, as sales were down 0.6 percent in the seven days through December 20 from a year earlier, according to the International Council of Shopping Centers and Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
