Sears Hometown struggles in highly promotional market

Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, which was spun off by Sears Holdings in 2012, saw same-store sales fall 0.5 percent in the most recent quarter. The company also reported a net loss in profits due in part to promotions on major appliances and other types of hardware the chain sells.
