See Chipotle’s New Robots That Can Crank Out Nearly 200 Burrito Bowls an Hour
September 22, 2023
Chipotle is partnering with Hyphen, a food tech startup, to test an automated kitchen line capable of producing up to 180 bowls per hour, boosting the efficiency of its digital orders, which accounted for over $3 billion in sales last year. While one person can manually prepare 20 to 30 bowls per hour, Hyphen’s system proves both faster and more accurate. Chipotle’s CEO, Brian Niccol, anticipates deploying this technology in restaurants within the next 12 to 18 months, contributing to the chain’s goal of reaching 7,000 locations.
