Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York yesterday admonished TJMaxx and its affiliated stores, Marshalls and Home Goods, for continuing to sell a number of items that had been recalled for consumer protection reasons. Among the banned products: sleepers linked to infant deaths, hoverboards known to sometimes explode and Ivanka Trump scarves that fail to meet anti-flammability standards. “It’s not a bargain if it can hurt you, burn you, cut you or explode,” said Sen. Schumer. “It’s a danger that should be in the garbage, not a store shelf, or worse, under a tree.”
