Big Savings Alert: Shake Shack Introduces Combo Meal Deal

March 6, 2025

Shake Shack fever is taking over fans of the fast-food chain. The beloved eatery — which last year was dubbed the most expensive fast-food chain in America — has introduced its first budget-friendly combo meal.

The deal is comprised of a Chicken Shack, crinkle cut fries, and a small soda for $9.99, per TODAY. This is around an $8 difference in price for customers who choose to purchase each of these items separately.

The offer is available via kiosks in restaurants, on the chain’s website, or by using Shake Shack’s app. All customers have to do is enter the code CHICKEN before checkout. The offer is limited to one combo per order.

A Chicken Shack consists of a crispy, hand-breaded chicken breast, lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo served on a soft, toasted potato bun. It’s Shake Shack’s take on the classic fried chicken sandwich, known for its flavorful, crispy texture.

According to the chain’s website, the combo meal is only available through March 15.

Shake Shack Isn’t the Only Fast-Food Chain With a Value Meal

Some of Shake Shack’s competitors, including McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s, have introduced their own value meals recently. These budget-friendly combos are becoming more common across the restaurant industry as customers look to save money on their favorite fast foods.

“Consumers are continuing to feel the sting of inflation and so more than half of Americans are eating out less than they used to,” Christopher Hydock, a professor at Tulane University’s School of Business who specializes in consumer experience and retail pricing, told USA Today in February.

“With less customers eating out, restaurants are forced to compete for fewer customers which forces them to find ways to differentiate their offerings,” Hydock explained. “Since price is also increasingly a concern for customers, value meals are one logical way of doing so.”
