Sonic Offers $1 Double Cheeseburger as Part of ‘Smasher Week’ Starting April 21

April 16, 2025

Fast-food lovers have good reason to look ahead to the end of the month with some recent news: Sonic is offering a $1 double cheeseburger deal as part of its “Smasher Week” kicking off April 21.

According to a company press release, the fast-food chain will be giving out 1 million Double Sonic Smasher burgers — dubbed “the new ‘Smashional Cheeseburger of America’” — as part of this delectable promo, at least to those quick enough to redeem the offer via the brand’s proprietary app.

Smash burgers have been en vogue for some time now, so it may come as little surprise that Sonic is leveraging the trend to satisfy loyalists’ taste buds. The double cheeseburger features two Angus beef patties, a double helping of melted American cheese, a serving of the chain’s signature sauce, crinkle-cut pickles, and diced onions, delivered within a soft potato bun.

“We truly believe America deserves a better burger. Consumers are having to shell out more and more money for the same old sad, assembly line burgers that have been sitting under heat lamps, and it’s a real problem when sit-down restaurants are offering better burger deals than fast food chains. We introduced the Sonic Smasher last year to give people something better, a premium cheeseburger at a fast-food price, and we’re proud of the highly positive responses we’ve had from guests since it launched,” said CMO Ryan Dickerson.

“Our $1 Smasher Week is the perfect opportunity to try the Sonic Smasher and experience the difference. Whether you’re already a Sonic Smasher fan who wants to get it again at an extra delicious price, or you’re a cheeseburger connoisseur who hasn’t yet tried it and needs to be convinced, the Sonic Smasher is waiting to upgrade your burger game,” Dickerson added.

How To Claim Your Sonic $1 Double Smasher Burger

If you’re looking to claim the $1 Double Sonic Smasher burger deal, be sure to have the app downloaded in advance of the promotional period. From April 21 through April 27 — or before 1 million offers have been claimed — open the app, tap the deals tab, and claim the deal.

The press release noted that add-ons cost extra and that taxes were not included in the pricing.
