S&P says tough times ahead for mall owners

A new report identifies seven publicly traded mall owners at risk of failure in the coming months: Brookfield Property REIT, CBL & Associates, Macerich, Pennsylvania REIT, Simon Property Group, Taubman Centers and Washington Prime Group. CBL and PREIT both filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Nov. 1.
