Staples taking another run to acquire Office Depot

Staples has sent an offer of $2.1 billion to acquire all of Office Depot's common stock. The office supplies retailer attempted to acquire its rival in 2016 before it was blocked by the federal government. Staples went private in 2017 when it was acquired by Sycamore Partners.
