Starbucks is automating how it makes its cold drinks

Starbucks has unveiled a new automated cold beverage system that will cut the time it takes to make drinks. The system can make a mocha frappuccino with whipped cream in 37 seconds. It takes 87 seconds with a barista alone. “We will never replace our baristas,” said Deb Hall Lefevre, Starbucks chief technology officer. “Rather, our job is to automate the work and simplify it so that their job is easier.”
