Starbucks' Rosalind Brewer recruited for Amazon's board

Starbucks chief operating officer Rosalind Brewer has been invited to join Amazon's board of directors. The appointment is notable for a number of reasons. Ms. Brewer is an 11-year veteran of arch-competitor Walmart, at one point serving as chief exec of Sam's Club. Further, she will raise the number of women on Amazon's board to four for the first time, and is the second African American woman to serve in that capacity.
