Stop & Shop Rolls Out ‘Savings Kiosks’ for Customers. Here Are the Details

February 10, 2025

Stop & Shop continues to provide additional savings for its customers. After originally announcing the Savings Kiosks at the end of 2024, the grocery chain has just started implementing them this month. Let’s take a look at what we know so far.

Stop & Shop Savings Kiosk Rollout

Although the store originally announced the Savings Kiosks back in December 2024, the kiosks only officially started making their debut throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut at the start of February, according to Fox 61.

All Stop & Shop locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey now have an in-store kiosk designed to make digital coupons more available to all customers.

The “Savings Station” was installed at all 223 establishments in the Tri-State area, allowing customers to receive discounts. With the deployment complete, the technology is now available at all Stop & Shop locations in five states, totaling more than 350.

According to a Stop & Shop press release, the Savings Station enables customers to efficiently activate all weekly circular digital coupons and tailored offers without the use of a smartphone, the internet, or a computer. The resource, designed to “bridge the digital divide,” is available to all guests, including those who are not technologically skilled.

Customers can utilize the Savings Station by scanning their GO Rewards loyalty card or entering their phone number to load coupons. They can then activate personalized offers depending on their purchase history.

Stop & Shop President Roger Wheeler said the rollout is another step the firm is taking to reduce friction and improve the shopping experience for its customers.

“We heard from customers who felt they were missing out on valuable digital coupon savings, and the Savings Section is our response to that feedback,” Wheeler said in the release. “It ensures that our customers can easily access all of our great deals.”

No Longer Selling Cigarettes

While Stop & Shop customers can certainly get their fair share of savings thanks to the new kiosks, one thing they will not be able to save money on anymore is cigarettes, as the store has stopped selling them.

Stop & Shop, which has locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, said in a news release last September that it will participate in this campaign to help reduce smoking among its consumers.

Gordon Reid, Stop & Shop’s president, explained why the grocery chain removed tobacco products from its shelves. “Our responsibility as a grocer goes far beyond our aisles, and we are committed to taking bold steps to help our associates, customers, and communities work towards better health outcomes. From our team of registered dietitians that serve our customers at no cost to our trained and trusted pharmacy associates, Stop & Shop aims to support the health and well-being of the neighborhoods we serve — and this exit from tobacco is one more way we’re accomplishing that goal.”

Katie Thornell, Stop & Shop’s director of pharmacy, noted, “The health of our communities is a priority and quitting smoking greatly reduces the risk of developing smoking-related diseases. Our licensed pharmacists can help with providing guidance for smoking cessation, as well as immunization recommendations for those who may have lowered immunity as a result of smoking.”

Her statement continued, “We welcome everyone looking to quit smoking to come and meet with one of our specially trained, dedicated pharmacists, who are partners in supporting our customers’ needs at their convenience.”

The store’s commitment to its customers’ health and well-being includes the cessation of tobacco product sales. Stop & Shop also constantly provides nutrition resources to all of its consumers.
