Stores lure back shoppers on the day after with even bigger sales

Old Navy was reportedly running a storewide 75 percent-off sale on the day after Christmas (jeans were 50 percent off). So many shoppers return to stores after the holiday to do returns and grab up new deals with their gift cards, it's surprising the day doesn't have a Black Friday-type moniker. By all accounts, the successful holiday season was kind to Chicago merchants where the Magnificent Mile Association reported that stores on Michigan Avenue tracked a couple of points above the national average.
