Supermarket Sales Gains Offset by Inflation

Supermarket industry sales rose 5.2 percent in 2008 but these gains were offset by a food-at-home inflation rate of 5.7 percent, according to the "2009 Food Retailing Industry Speaks: Annual State of the Industry Review" by the Food Marketing Institute.
