Supervalu's Save-A-Lot Makes Changes to Cater to the Unemployed

With upwards of $71 billion in food stamps and other aid being distributed by the Fed's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, there's much at stake for grocers. Purchases made with food stamps accounted for about 40 percent of sales at Save-A-Lot last year, up from 26 percent two years ago.
