Taco Bell’s Newest Menu Addition Includes a Crispy, Cheesy Steak Taco

May 5, 2025

Taco Bell continues to add new items to its ever-growing menu, including a crispy, cheesy steak taco.

Per a press release announcement, Taco Bell is testing the Crispy Cheese Triple Stacked Taco in Sacramento, giving customers a daring new take on our beloved Crunchy Taco. This latest product has a warm flour tortilla sandwiched between a second layer of melted mozzarella, pepperjack, cheddar cheeses, and an outer shell of crispy cheese. A third layer with a seasoned beef Crunchy Taco and spicy ranch sauce is tucked inside for a crispy, crunchy taste.

The price of this cheesy invention varies by location, ranging from $3.99 to $4.99. It may also be called the Quesocrisp Triple Stacked Taco on some menus, depending on the specific location.

The fast-food chain has also announced the return of the Dragonfruit Freeze. Taco Bell’s Dragonfruit Freeze is a cool, slushy beverage blended with a bright pink dragonfruit flavor. For a limited time, one of the company’s most popular freezes, which was first debuted in 2020 and re-released in March 2024, is now offered nationwide for $3.69 for a regular (16 ounces) and $3.89 for a large (20 ounces).

Taco Bell Chicken Nuggets May Soon Be a Permanent Staple

By 2026, Taco Bell plans to make crispy chicken a staple item on its menu. As part of the brand’s exploration of what that permanent crispy chicken invention might be, Crispy Chicken Nuggets have returned as of April 24.

After selling out countrywide in less than a week in December 2024, Taco Bell’s Crispy Chicken Nuggets are back in stock, at least for now. Taco Bell’s journey to become the go-to place for crispy chicken begins with the return of the nuggets, which follows a menu pipeline of chicken-led innovation.

“We’re a taco place doing chicken our own way and like all our best moments, it’s a little unexpected — because we’ve never been about following the rules,” said Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery. “The demand for our nuggets was off the charts, which is why we’re looking at making crispy chicken permanent to give our fans what they are telling us they want. We know we’re not the usual name in crispy chicken, but our nuggets speak for themselves — they’re bold, different, and unmistakably Taco Bell.”
