Taco Bell Is Bringing Back 2 Fan Favorite Menu Options for a Limited Time

October 7, 2024

Taco Bell will be bringing back two fan-favorite menu items for a limited time, and customers all over the country are clamoring for them.

Food blogger Markie Devo announced on Instagram on Friday, Oct. 4, that the well-known fast-food chain is preparing to bring back the Double Decker Taco and Double Decker Taco Supreme.

The following items go into making the Double Decker Taco:

  • A tortilla with beans wrapped around a taco shell
  • Seasoned beef
  • Lettuce
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Diced tomatoes and low-fat sour cream are added to the Double Decker Taco Supreme.

Taco Bell will be making the items available beginning Oct. 10.

Fans can’t wait to get their hands on the limited-edition items, with one commenting, “I don’t know why they make these limited-time items, they’re so dang good!” Another fan noticed that popular pygmy hippo Moo Deng was featured in the post, and noted, “Moo Deng knows what’s up with good food. I never tried these but now I’m intrigued.”

Still, others put in their orders for other limited-edition items to make a comeback on the nationwide menu. “I wanna see them bring back the CHILI CHEESE BURRITO! That’s one of our most favorite items!” wrote another fan.

Taco Bell Is Testing New Menu Items

The Double Decker isn’t the only item making a limited-time comeback. Late last month, Taco Bell announced that it was testing out new menu items for possible nationwide inclusion.

As of Thursday, Sept. 26, the Mexican-inspired fast-food business has started testing out two new items: the Strawberry Passionfruit Aguas Refrescas and the Caliente Cantina Chicken Burrito.

Included in the chain’s freshly unveiled Cantina Chicken Menu, the $5.99 burrito being tested in Cincinnati, Ohio, has a new hot sauce dubbed Caliente Sauce that combines red pepper, red jalapeño pepper, and ghost chili pepper. In an attempt to cash in on the nation’s love of chicken, Taco Bell debuted a new menu in March that included burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and a Cantina Chicken Bowl.

Residents of Charlotte, North Carolina, can purchase the Strawberry Passionfruit Aguas Refrescas, a 20-ounce cup of green tea blended with dehydrated strawberry chunks, for $3.99. In April, Taco Bell began testing Agua Refrescas with fruit infusions at a Southern California restaurant. Peach Mango and Dragonfruit Berry are the other two varieties that are offered there.
