Taco Bell Foundation Announces Opening of Live Más Scholarship

November 20, 2024

The Taco Bell Foundation has announced its 10th annual opening of the Live Más Scholarship application. The fast-food restaurant‘s foundation will distribute upwards of $14 million to eligible students ages 16 to 26.

Open to Taco Bell team members as well as customers, all students have to do is submit a two-minute video where they share their passion for a particular subject. This video must highlight how their passion will make a positive impact in the world and how winning the scholarship will help them achieve their goals

Subsequently, if they are chosen, these students could earn up to $25,000 in scholarship funds toward their education. This opportunity is designed for those who dare to dream big and challenge the status quo, embodying the true essence of a cultural rebel.

The scholarship total is up $4 million from last year when the total distribution was $10 million. The Live Más Scholarship community consists of over 3,000 students who have been awarded over $50 million in funds thus far.

Victoria Mondani, three-time Live Más Scholarship recipient and a Taco Bell team member, reflected on the chances she’s received since being awarded the scholarship in a press release. “I am incredibly grateful for the Live Más Scholarship, as it eases the financial burden of college, allowing me to concentrate more on pursuing my passions and investing more of myself into service projects,” she said. “Working at Taco Bell was my first job, and I never could’ve imagined the impact this community has had on my life and career.”

Taco Bell’s Live Más Scholarship Doesn’t Require Grades, Essays, or Test Scores

The Taco Bell Live Más Scholarship is not a grades-based scholarship award. Instead of focusing on GPA or athletic achievements, the company instead wants to focus on the passions of applying students. The application process uses a non-traditional video format.

In a video, they must speak of not only their life’s passion but the impact they want to create in the world and how an education will help them achieve that goal. Previous scholarship winners have the opportunity to win again, with the chance of up to four renewals that carry them throughout their college careers.

“Empowering ambitious young people is at the heart of everything we do, supporting those who dare to dream big,” said Julie Davis, Taco Bell’s global chief legal officer and executive sponsor of the Taco Bell Foundation. “This year is an especially exciting one as we’re allocating more scholarship funds for Taco Bell Team Members than ever before. Their hard work and dedication are deeply appreciated, and we want to inspire and enable them to Live Más at every opportunity.”

The application period is now open to students, and it will close on Jan. 8, 2025. The Taco Bell Foundation will announce the recipients in April 2025.
