Target removes some Pride skus to protect threatened associates
May 24, 2023
Target will remove some of its LGBTQ+ Pride Month collection merchandise from stores after homophobic and anti-trans individuals and groups spread misinformation about the products including them being tied to Satanists. Some of the retailer’s employees have come under threat from those who side with the lies being spread about the retailer. “Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior,” Target said in a statement.
