Target Drops 2 Taylor Swift Black Friday Exclusives

October 18, 2024

Target has announced that it will sell not one but two official Taylor Swift items on Black Friday, continuing a longstanding partnership between the retailer and singer, who has debuted limited-edition items at the Bullseye store for years.

The company announced two exclusive Taylor Swift releases available only at Target. First, there’s the official “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book.” This book provides a behind-the-scenes look at the making and performance of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour.

Second, a Target release of “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” album on both vinyl and CD has extra tracks exclusive to the retailer, including four acoustic bonus songs. Both of these collectible items will be available exclusively at Target in stores only on Black Friday, Nov. 29. The following day, they will be for sale on the Target app and Target.com while supplies last.

“Here is the official retrospective of the most wondrous tour of my life, my beloved Eras Tour,” said Taylor Swift. “Thank you to the fans who came to this show. You were what made The Eras Tour what it became.”

Taylor Swift Has Partnered With Target for Years

For years, Taylor Swift has traditionally headed to a local Target store to purchase a copy of her album on release day. She subsequently began working with the retailer during her “Fearless” era in 2008.

Subsequently, Swift has released limited-edition versions of her albums at the chain store. A special 2012 release of “Red” contained the bonus tracks, “Come Back… Be Here,” “Girl At Home,” and “The Moment I Knew.” The “Red” CD also included an acoustic version of “State Of Grace,” along with the original demo recordings of “Red” and “Treacherous.”

The Target edition of “1989” contained the bonus songs “New Romantics,” “Wonderland,” and “You Are In Love.” The CD also featured a voice memo of “Blank Space,” “I Know Places,” and “I Wish You Would.”

For the Target release of “Reputation,” a set of two special magazines could be purchased separately along with a Target-exclusive T-shirt. The Target deluxe edition of “Lover” contained voice memos for “I Forgot That You Existed,” and “Lover.”

A Target edition of “Midnights” was the “Lavender” edition vinyl. “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” also had the same hue.

Target’s release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” was released with an exclusive tangerine-colored vinyl and an exclusive track “Sweeter Than Fiction (Taylor’s Version).” Finally, when Swift released 2024’s “The Tortured Poets Department,” Target sold a transparent vinyl edition.

Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Target, said the following of the continued collaboration between Swift and the store: “Shopping at Target is all about finding amazing products you can’t get anywhere else, which is why we’re so excited about this next chapter in our long relationship with Taylor Swift: the exclusive Black Friday release of her new tour book and vinyl album. Target is at our best when we’re creating access to joyful experiences and that’s exactly what this represents — a new way for everyone to immerse themselves in Taylor’s concert and music, right in time for the holiday season.”
