Texas Roadhouse Debuts Frozen Bread Rolls at Walmart

June 28, 2024

Texas Roadhouse has introduced a frozen version of their bread rolls, now available for home baking. The restaurant chain launched these signature rolls exclusively at Walmart, where they are currently being sold in select stores across Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. Walmart confirmed the news on Tuesday, adding that the product will be available in all stores nationwide in the coming weeks.

The restaurant expressed enthusiasm about this new product, acknowledging that while nothing can replace the freshly baked bread served daily in their establishments, the frozen rolls offer an excellent alternative for customers to enjoy at their convenience. This move aligns with the growing trend of restaurants offering their signature items for home preparation, catering to consumers’ desire for comfort and convenience.

This rollout coincides with Walmart’s announcement of its major summer promotion, “Walmart Deals,” which promises significant discounts from July 8 to July 11. This timing suggests a strategic partnership between Texas Roadhouse and Walmart to maximize customer engagement and sales during the promotional period. Walmart described this event as their “largest savings event ever,” offering early access to deals for Walmart+ members on the first day.

The launch of Texas Roadhouse’s frozen rolls not only capitalizes on the restaurant’s loyal customer base but also aligns with broader retail trends responding to inflation and reduced consumer spending. By providing a taste of Texas Roadhouse at home, the chain is meeting customers where they are, blending convenience with the comfort of familiar flavors.

Initially scheduled for a June 29 release, the rolls appeared on shelves earlier than planned at some Walmart locations, sparking excitement on social media. These 12-pack mini rolls come in a ready-to-bake pan and are accompanied by a honey cinnamon glaze designed to replicate the restaurant’s popular honey cinnamon butter. Each package is priced at $5.26, providing an affordable way for fans to enjoy the Texas Roadhouse experience at home.
