The cure for women's apparel? Clothes that aren't 'ugly'

Despite a strong economic rebound in many areas of business, women's clothing retailers — Anthropologie, J.Crew, Gap and Banana Republic among them — are still experiencing flat and declining numbers. The chains themselves acknowledge that product quality may be to blame and are taking corrective action to get styles more on-trend and improve fit.
