TikTok has filed a federal lawsuit against Montana after the state recently passed a ban on the video-sharing app. The lawsuit claims that Montana’s measure violates the company’s First Amendment rights and that the state doesn’t have jurisdiction in the matter, which it says is the federal government’s purview.
