U.S. added 311K jobs in February

The U.S. economy added a better-than-expected 311,000 jobs in February, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The national unemployment rate ticked up to 3.6 percent. “The entire labor market is cooling off,” said Luke Tilley, chief economist at Wilmington Trust. “But it’s still incredibly tight. It’s just not as tight as it was in the middle of last year or in 2021.”
