U.S. wholesale prices post biggest monthly jump since 2018

U.S. wholesale prices were up 0.6 percent in July as energy prices jumped 5.3 percent. Food prices fell 0.5 percent during the month. Overall, producer prices have been down 0.4 percent as the recession caused by the coronavirus pandemic has hit the restaurant, retail and travel industries.
