Unemployment rate drops as Americans go back to work
The Washington Post 06/04/2021The national unemployment rate fell to 5.8 percent in May, down from 6.1 percent in April. The economy added 559,000 jobs as states began easing pandemic-related restrictions and widespread distribution of COVID-19 vaccines led to a drop in cases, hospitalizations and deaths.
