USDA considering higher standards to label meat as 'humanely raised'

The U.S. Department of Agriculture said it is considering putting higher standards in place for meat to be labeled as “humanely raised” or antibiotic-free. A 2020 Office of Inspector General investigation found 15 percent of USDA-approved label applications were either incomplete or inaccurate.
