Vitamin Shoppe owner received an unsolicited buyout offer

Franchise Group said it had received an unsolicited offer to buy the company for $30 a share, a nearly 32 percent premium to its closing price on Friday. The company, which owns Vitamin Shoppe and Buddy's Home Furnishings, is considering a deal to take it private by CEO Brian Kahn and his executive team, according to a Wall Street Journal report from earlier this year.
