Walgreens’ pharmacy revenues get a boost from COVID-19 vaccinations

Walgreens reported that prescription medicine sales at its pharmacies jumped 9.8 percent in the chain’s third-quarter, with COVID-19 vaccines representing six percent of that increase. The drugstore retailer, which raised its annual sales and earnings guidance, posted a profit of $1.38 a share in the most recent quarter, compared to a loss of $1.95 a share during the same period in 2020.
