Walmart bumps up pay for pharmacists and opticians

Walmart yesterday said it was increasing wages paid to its 7,700 pharmacists and opticians. Pharmacists will now make an average of more than $140,000 a year. Opticians will now earn more than $22.50 an hour. Walmart also said it was starting a program to help its Vision Center associates gain certification and licensing, leading to higher-paying jobs.
