Like Wawa’s Turkey Gobblers? Here’s How To Get $2,500 To Eat Them

November 22, 2024

If you’re someone who likes Wawa sandwiches, SIXT has a Thanksgiving-themed promotion that will earn you a nice bit of holiday money to eat them.

In a press release announcement, it was revealed that the rent-a-car company is partnering with the nationwide convenience store to look for a Gas Station Hoagie Hunter. In addition to having a strong opinion about the ideal ratio of cheese to turkey, the company is seeking someone who is an enthusiastic gas station food connoisseur, is knowledgeable about road trip snacks that go beyond the typical bag of chips, and enjoys the thought of transforming a roadside pit stop into a five-star culinary experience.

To determine which Wawa, QuikTrip, or Weigel’s location offers the finest Gobbler Hoagie (or comparable turkey sandwich/sub), the selected candidate will have to visit or collect information from up to 100 of the top stations nationwide.

The company will cover all travel expenses and sandwich costs by giving the Hoagie Hunter $2,500 and a $500 gas station gift card.

“We created the Hoagie Hunter position to find the best gas station hoagie across the nation,” said the experts at SIXT, in an exclusive statement to RetailWire. “Whether you’re a fan of Wawa, QuikTrip, or Weigel’s, these fuel stations offer a convenient stop for road trips and daily commutes. Their turkey hoagies keep fans fueled up for holiday travels! We’re looking for someone who takes sandwiches seriously — so why not get paid to become the Hoagie Hunter and treat yourself to your favorite turkey hoagie while on the go?”

Wawa Previously Offered Free Coffee

This isn’t the first time that Wawa has been involved in a fun promotion to get customers into its stores. Last month, the company offered free coffee to New Jersey residents.

There were festivities and gifts for customers at the most recent store to open, which is located in the Piscataway area of New Jersey. On Oct. 11, there were celebrations for the grand opening at 421 Stelton Road and South Washington Ave. in Piscataway. Wally Goose, the mascot, and local leaders were there. Additionally, the Piscataway Police Department and the New Market Fire Company participated in a hoagie-building competition known as “Hoagies for Heroes.”
