Wendy’s Unveils Official Frosty Swirl Line. Here Are the Details

March 10, 2025

Wendy’s has unveiled the first changes to its iconic Frosty line in years. After months of rumors, the fan-favorite dessert has a whole new look. Here’s what we know about it so far.

Wendy’s New Frosty Line Features Chocolate Flavored Swirls

According to TODAY, Wendy’s announced in a statement that Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions will soon be available as new ways to enjoy its Frosty desserts.

The new additions to the drive-thru dessert competition follow in the footsteps of McDonald’s McFlurry and Dairy Queen’s Blizzard.

Wendy’s says its Frosty Swirls come in chocolate or vanilla and are swirled with a sauce of your choice. Frosty Fusions combine sauces and mix-ins to create a “one-of-a-kind flavor experience.”

Wendy’s menu additions were first announced during its Investor Day on March 6, when the company discussed its objectives for the coming year, including investments in technology to improve customer experience and a goal of adding 1,000 new locations globally by 2028.

According to FOX 8, Lindsay Radkoski, Wendy’s U.S. chief marketing officer, said during the presentation that the Frosty packaging will also be updated with a new cup, lid, and blue spoon “designed for the perfect eating experience,” thus completing the updated makeover to the iconic sweet treat without sacrificing the quality or flavor that the Frosty has become world-famous for.

“Frosty is one of the most iconic items on Wendy’s menu and we know that consumers are increasingly seeking new flavors and variety,” said Radkoski in a press release shared with RetailWire. “Our new Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions will give our fans even more ways to enjoy this classic treat.”

It is worth mentioning that Wendy’s has previously sold swirled Frosty treats, but not under the names Frosty Swirls or Frosty Fusions. In the early 2000s, Wendy’s served Twisted Frosty desserts with OREOs, M&M’s, and Nestle’s Toll House cookie dough.

Moving forward to October 2024, the business sold the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty as part of its “SpongeBob SquarePants” Wendy’s Krabby Patty Kollab, which had a vanilla Frosty base mixed with pineapple-mango puree.

Frosty Change Rumors First Appeared Last Month

It was first revealed last month that Wendy’s was contemplating the two major modifications to its popular Frosty sweet snacks before summer.

Parade Magazine reported at the time that the iconic burger eatery was expanding its Frosty offerings, and fans were “super excited” about the move.

In collaboration with fellow food blogger Sodaseekers, gourmet influencer Snachwithzach revealed a game-changing change to the frozen delight. The video, posted on Feb. 15, details the alleged alterations sent to the reputable food-stagrammer by an anonymous source.

“There are two major things that Wendy’s is planning on doing that will absolutely up the Frosty’s game,” he said, revealing that Wendy’s will first be introducing the Swirls to the Frosty game.

“It’s no secret at this point that the Thin Mints Frosty is coming out on Feb. 21. That’s a good example of what the Frosty Swirls are going to look like, but it gets much bigger than just these two,” he continued. “This coming April, you will be able to add caramel, strawberry, and brownie batter swirls to any of the Frosty flavors that they have. The Spongebob Frosty makes a little bit more sense now.”

The influencer also stated that the second update “is going to piggyback off of the swirls, that is Frosty fusions, that launches in mid-May.”

Wendy’s has already demonstrated that it is not hesitant to experiment with new flavors and mix-ins for its Frosty desserts, as evidenced by its recent collaboration with Girl Scouts on its new Thin Mint cookie-flavored Frosty.

The treat blends the flavors of two “iconic fan favorites” to create a delightful and minty treat, and it first became available on Feb. 21.
