Wendy’s Honors Active & Retired Military With Free Breakfast on Veterans Day

November 6, 2024

Wendy’s has announced that it will be honoring active and retired military on Veterans Day by giving them free breakfast.

A press release announcement revealed that Wendy’s honors Veterans Day by offering a complimentary breakfast combo during breakfast hours on Monday, Nov. 11 — no purchase necessary — to those who have served or are currently serving in the United States military.

The fast-food giant’s breakfast combos include the delectable Honey Buddy Chicken Biscuit Combo, the substantial Breakfast Baconator, and the savory Sausage Egg & Cheese English Muffin. Each combo includes a drink and tiny, seasoned potatoes.

On Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, during breakfast hours, fans can visit participating Wendy’s restaurants and get their complimentary breakfast combo by presenting their WeSalute+ Card (formerly the VetRewards card for Veterans Advantage members) or by telling the staff member at the register. No military identification is needed.

Wendy’s Is Closing 140 Locations

Despite its promise of free meals, there are some Wendy’s locations that are underperforming — and, as such, are closing.

During an earnings call, CEO Kirk Tanner stated that the closures will focus on restaurants that are “outdated and located in underperforming” locales.

Tanner pointed out that there isn’t “one particular area” where the restaurants are located, and the corporation hasn’t yet released a list of anticipated closures.

With plans to add 250–300 new locations worldwide by the end of 2024, the fast-food chain recently revealed a new development incentive program in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. The company’s 2025 target, which calls for all planned new constructions to be connected to certain development pledges, reflects its dedication to growth.

Wendy’s and Coca-Cola have also strengthened their cooperation, expanded Wendy’s beverage offerings, and preserved the system-wide competitive advantage of the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. This partnership is anticipated to spur both short-term and long-term financial success, as evidenced by a temporary promotion that offers any size drink for just $1 at participating U.S. stores. With the advent of speech AI technology, crew members may now improve the customer experience while increasing operational efficiency.

In other news, the company just established a new restaurant in Great Falls, Montana, and through a local initiative, donated more than $50,000 to New Hampshire foster and adoptive parents.
