White Castle Fans Rejoice: New Ranch Chicken Rings Now Available in Frozen Aisles
March 12, 2025
White Castle has elevated its delicious Chicken Rings by coating them in ranch dressing.
According to a press release, the hamburger chain has expanded its frozen food lineup to include a delicious ranch-seasoned ring. The new snack features a “tangy blend of herbs and spices, developed through an ongoing partnership between White Castle, America’s first fast-food hamburger chain and a leader in Sliders, and Bellisio Foods, a subsidiary of CP Foods and one of the nation’s largest and most trusted frozen food companies. Originally introduced at retail in 2022, the White Castle Chicken Rings lineup now includes three flavors: Original, Spicy, and the new Ranch.”
Lynn Blashford, CMO of White Castle, stated, “We are thrilled to introduce new ranch-flavored chicken rings. Ranch is a beloved flavor that is consistently ranked high in popularity among consumers, yet surprisingly underrepresented in the frozen chicken category. We believe our ranch-flavored rings will fill this gap and become a Craveable favorite for consumers of all ages.”
“We’ve seen the popularity of ranch grow over the past few years,” said Nicky Grimmius, VP of marketing and innovation at Bellisio Foods, Inc. “Expanding the chicken ring offerings with a ranch flavor that consumers crave is creating new opportunities for retailers and delivering exactly what our chicken rings fans want. Our ranch-flavored rings tested 25% better in delivering a true-to-ranch flavor than the closest competitor in consumer testing.”
White Castle’s Frozen Foods Sell Extraordinarily Well
White Castle’s frozen food products have demonstrated significant popularity and strong sales performance. As of 2021, the company surpassed 6 billion retail Sliders sold, achieving record sales that year, according to a 2022 news release.
Twenty percent of White Castle’s total sales had come in the previous three years, according to the release. Moreover, the company’s cheeseburger was recognized as the No. 1 selling frozen sandwich in retail stores and vending operations across the country, per Nielsen data.
“Retail sales have grown steadily since we launched the division in 1987, but they have really taken off in the past decade and even more so the past few years,” Tiffany Carreker, general manager and vice president of sales for White Castle’s retail division, said at the time. “Our Cravers love our Sliders, whether they’re made at a restaurant or purchased from the freezer section at their local store.”
White Castle introduced its retail division in 1987, becoming the first fast-food restaurant to offer its menu items for purchase at grocery stores. Products are available at retailers throughout all 50 states.
