Will Macy's rivals follow its lead with massive store closings?

Wall Street smiled last week when Macy's announced the anticipated closing of 100 stores. So will J.C. Penney, Sears, Nordstrom, Dillards and Bon-Ton follow suit? Based on an analysis by Green Street, it would take the additional shuttering of 750 department stores to return the industry to the productivity levels it enjoyed ten years ago.
